Our shampoo bars are formulated with sustainability and wellness at the top of the priority list. Using naturally derived, plant-based ingredients that are 100% safe for people and aquatic life alike, you can rest assured you’re doing yourself a favor, and the environment benefits as a bonus.

Originally, we set out to make a shampoo bar more economical for people, but quickly discovered that in order to satisfy our priorities mentioned, our product was not going to be the cheapest on the market. However, most find that our shampoos moisturize enough that they no longer require conditioner! Somehow, we still managed to be more affordable.  Another benefit to using our shampoo is there is little to no need for additional styling products. The Grow & Glow bar is designed for those looking to stimulate hair growth, repair damaged hair or scalp, eliminate dandruff and excess oil. The oils are best suited for those with fine and thin hair, while the glycerin benefits those with thick, coarse, dry dehydrated hair. The other ingredients are best for those with oily hair.  This shampoo leaves a silky, smooth, and sleek finish.  Let’s take a look at what’s in this shampoo and we will further define how they are of benefit below.

Ingredients:

• SCI (coconut derivative)
• distilled water
• Jojoba oil
• Baobab oil
• Coconut oil
• Vegetable glycerin
• Ghassoul clay
• Nettle leaves
• Aloe Vera Powder
• Essential oils (Rosemary Mint blend)

*Jojoba oil moisturizes and protects against breakage, dryness, and split end. It also aids as a dandruff remedy. It strengthens hair, prevents hair loss, and promotes hair thickness.

*Baobab oil stimulates hair growth, combats hair loss and maintains healthy scalp moisture balance.

*Coconut oil comes in top rated in all studies at reducing protein loss in hair that was undamaged, bleached, chemically treated, and UV damaged, which means it is the best to keep it looking healthy. The lauric acid found in the medium chain triglycerides is the easiest to absorb into the hair allowing it maximum ability to protect and moisturize.

*Vegetable Glycerin acts as a humectant, hydrating the scalp and eliminating breakage. Anyone with freshly color treated hair may want to avoid using until after a few washes.

*Ghassoul Clay aka Rhassoul clay is a Moroccan clay rich in magnesium which adds softness, shine and strength to the hair, and some research indicates it has healing properties.  It contains silica which works as an exfoliant and detoxifier which cleanses impurities from the scalp as well as excess oil, leading to a glossy sheen.

*Nettle leaves has a reputation for stimulating healthy hair growth, refreshing the scalp, and eliminating excess oil.

*Aloe Vera Powder strengthens hair, controls greasy hair, helps itchy scalp, protects from UV damage, and aids in hair growth.

*Essential oils chosen for this bar are formulated to mimic Aveda’s Shampure rosemary mint scent, which pairs well the herbaceous aroma of the ground nettle leaves.  In order to achieve this I used, Cedarwood, Rosemary, Bergamot Mint, Palmarosa, and Patchouli.

Directions:

Wet hair thoroughly. With bar in lather bag, wet the bar and bag completely and rub lather bag in between hands until desired lather is reached. Apply lather to hair and continue to massage pressing bar into scalp in circular motions and rubbing long hair back and forth between hands and bar. Once desired lather is reached, set bag with shampoo down and continue massaging hair until satisfied. Rinse hair thoroughly and allow shampoo to dry inside bag between uses. (Hang dry is ideal.) Should last several months depending on use and storage.
